Slope is the whole conversation. A steep driveway is not always safe to place a bin on, because a loaded skip on a grade is a different proposition to a flat one, and a cul-de-sac or a battleaxe block can leave the truck no room to turn. Flat hardstand near the street is the ideal, even if it means carrying the load a bit further.

Which council covers the lake suburbs?
Lake Macquarie City Council, from Charlestown and Warners Bay right around to Swansea, Toronto and Morisset. Newcastle's boundary is further north than people expect, so Charlestown is Lake Macquarie rather than Newcastle.
Can you put a bin on a steep driveway?
Sometimes, but not always, and it is a safety call rather than a preference. A loaded bin on a grade behaves differently to one on the flat. Send a photo and we will tell you before the day rather than on it.
What size for taking out a deck?
A deck alone is often a 4m³ because timber is bulky and light. Add the retaining wall or the concrete footings and it becomes a weight job, which usually means a second smaller bin rather than a bigger one.
Do you cover the western side, out past Toronto?
Yes, including Wangi Wangi and the smaller lakeside villages. Those blocks are often bigger, so green waste is more likely to need its own bin.
Is there anything different about lakeside blocks?
Access, mostly. Battleaxe blocks, shared driveways and no turning circle at the end of a cul-de-sac are all common, and all worth mentioning when you enquire.
