Half of it is new-build tail end. Where the bin can sit in Maitland
The new estates are the easy half: every house has a driveway and a hardstand, and the truck can usually back straight in. The catch is that estate streets are narrow with cars parked both sides, so the earlier in the day the better. Maitland questions
Which council do I deal with in Maitland?
Maitland City Council, for anything on the road, the footpath or the nature strip. On your own property there is nothing to apply for. Their fees and their process are theirs, so go to their page rather than ours.
Can you get a truck into the newer estates?
Yes, and the driveways are usually ideal. The problem is parked cars on both sides of a narrow street, so an early booking on the day is easier than a mid-afternoon one.
What size for a new-build landscaping clean-up?
Usually a 4m³, and often two bins rather than one: the green waste from clearing and levelling keeps better company on its own than mixed through the builder's offcuts and packaging.
Do you cover Morpeth and Lorn?
Yes. Both are older and tighter than the estates, so send a photo of where you want the bin if there is any doubt. Heritage frontages are worth being careful around.
What about Thornton and Chisholm?
Both are in the Maitland council area and both are regular runs for us. Beresfield and Tarro next door are Newcastle, which only matters if the bin has to go on the street.
